BMW, MINI brand post impressive sales increases in FebruaryWoodcliff Lake, NJ - March 1, 2005... The BMW Group (BMW and MINI brands combined) reported sales of 21,496 vehicles in February 2005, an increase of 10 percent over the 19,561 vehicles sold in the same month of 2004. Year-to-date, BMW Group sales increased 16 percent, to 41,260 versus the 35,696 sold in the first two months of 2004.BMW Brand Sales BMW reported sales of 18,356 automobiles and Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV), up 9 percent compared to the 16,903 vehicles reported in February 2004. Year-to-date, BMW reported sales of 35,203, compared to the 30,282 reported in the same period a year ago, an increase of 16.3 percent. BMW Automobile Sales BMW's monthly automobile sales were down slightly for the month at 13,341 versus 13,584 in February 2004. For the first two months combined, BMW automobile sales increased 7.3 percent to 25,952 versus 24,191 reported in the same period last year. BMW Sports Activity Vehicle Sales February sales of BMW Sports Activity Vehicles were exceptionally strong, up 51 percent, to 5,015 vehicles over the 3,319 reported in the same month a year ago. Year-to-date, sales increased 9,251 to 6,091, up 52 percent. Certified Pre-owned BMW's Certified Pre-owned sales increased 2.5 percent in February, to 5,546 vehicles over the 5,411 reported in February 2004. Year-to-date, CPO sales were down slightly to 10,291 over the 10,476 reported in the same period in 2004. MINI Brand - MINI Automobiles MINI USA reported February sales of 3,140, an increase of 18 percent compared to the 2,658 sold in February 2004. MINI USA also reported sales of 6,057 for the first two months of 2005, an increase of 12 percent over the 5,414 sold in the corresponding period last year. |
